Group Therapy

Group Therapy

Are you looking for support and guidance from others who are facing similar challenges? Group therapy can be a powerful tool for personal growth and healing.

What is Group Therapy?

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves working with a licensed therapist and a small group of peers to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and confidential environment. Group therapy can provide a sense of community and connection, and can be a powerful tool for personal growth and healing.

Group therapy can be an effective complement to individual therapy, or can be a standalone treatment option. Our group therapy offerings vary, and may focus on specific issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, or relationship challenges. Our therapists are trained in a range of approaches and techniques, and will work with you to find the approach that best fits your needs and goals.

If you are interested in group therapy, we encourage you to contact us to learn more and schedule an appointment. We offer both in-person and teletherapy (online therapy via video conference or phone) options to ensure that you can access the support you need in a way that is convenient and comfortable for you.

Our Approach

At Psychology Roots Counseling Center, we offer a range of group therapy options to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Our group therapy offerings vary in size, focus, and format, and may include both in-person and teletherapy (online therapy via video conference or phone) options.

Our therapists are trained in a range of approaches and techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based therapy, and person-centered therapy. We believe in a holistic and integrative approach to therapy, and we will work with you to find the approach that best fits your needs and goals.

Our group therapy sessions are led by licensed therapists who have extensive experience working with a variety of issues and populations. Our therapists create a safe and supportive environment in which group members can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and receive feedback and support from their peers.

We understand that seeking therapy can be a vulnerable and intimidating experience, and we strive to create a welcoming and non-judgmental atmosphere in our group therapy sessions. We believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change, and we are committed to supporting you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery.

Benefits of Group Therapy

Group therapy can provide a number of unique benefits that may not be available in individual therapy or other forms of treatment. Some of the benefits of group therapy include:

  • Support and connection: Group therapy can provide a sense of community and connection with others who are facing similar challenges. This can be particularly helpful for those who may feel isolated or disconnected from others.
  • New perspectives: Group therapy can provide an opportunity to learn from others who are facing similar issues. Group members can share their experiences, insights, and coping strategies, and can offer feedback and support to each other. This can help you gain new perspectives and find solutions that you may not have considered on your own.
  • Increased accountability: Group therapy can provide increased accountability, as you are accountable to your therapist and group members for your progress and goals. This can help you stay motivated and committed to your treatment.
  • Practical skills and strategies: Group therapy can provide an opportunity to learn practical skills and strategies for managing your specific issues. Group members can practice these skills and strategies in the group setting and receive feedback from the therapist and their peers.
  • Increased self-awareness: Group therapy can provide an opportunity to explore and better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This increased self-awareness can be a powerful tool for personal growth and change.
